These are the kind of starts that win ballgames and playoff series. In 94 pitches, DeMatha's Thomas Keehn overwhelmed Good Counsel on Wednesday. The fastball pumped early. The curveball broke late. And after a complete game two-hitter that lasted only an hour and 32 minutes, the Stags walked away with a 1-0 win to take the Washington Catholic Athletic Association semifinal series.

They'll face St. John's in a best of three championship series starting Friday. The two teams split their regular season series.

In DeMatha's two wins in the semifinal series, Coach Sean O'Connor threw his two top arms, Marcus Brown in Game 1, and Keehn in Game 3. Combined, they allowed six hits and struck out 14 Falcons batters.
