Gonzaga Alum Caleb Williams Drafted First Overall in NFL Draft to Chicago Bears

On Thursday Night, The Chicago Bears selected Caleb Williams first overall in this years NFL draft. He played high school football at Gonzaga from 2017-2020, leading them to the WCAC Championship in 2018 defeating DeMatha with a hail mary pass to end the game in it's final seconds. 

As a Spohmore, Williams would be named Washington Post First Team All-Met and Washington, D.C. Gatorade Football Player of the Year. He would also be named First Team All-Met the following year. 

In College, Williams would win the Heisnman Trophy while at the University of Southern California in 2022. That year he would also win the Maxwell Award, Walter Camp Award, AP College Football player of the Year Award, be voted Unanimous All-American and Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year. 

His Teammate and left tackle at Gonzaga, Olu Fashanu, was also drafted in the first round last night at pick no. 11 by the New York Jets.
