The Academy of the Holy Cross Athletic Department has announced the hiring of two new coaches to their staff.
Greg Danto has been hired as the Head Coach of the Lacrosse program. Coach Danto brings collegiate coaching experience from George Mason University, where he spent three years as an Assistant Coach. At the high school level he has previously coached at Mount Hebron and Reservoir. Coach Danto has also coached a club team as a Head Coach with M&D Lacrosse Club.
Matthew Mongelli has been hired as the Head Swimming and Diving Coach. Coach Mongelli brings with him a lengthy background in the sport, where he has coached with Georgetown Prep, Nation's Capital Swim Club, Aqua Hoya Swim Club, and the Archdiocese of Washington.
Coach Mongelli has been coaching at Georgetown Prep for 25 years, and has been the Head Coach for the past 14 years. In 2015 he was inducted into their Athletic Hall of Fame. He has been awarded WMPSSDL coach of the year three times, most recently in 2019. He was also named All-met Coach of the Year twice, most recently in 2019.
