Gonzaga midfielder Kyle Borda didn't know what play his coaches called during the timeout before overtime Tuesday afternoon against Landon, but he had a good feeling.

So when the senior received a pass at the top of the Eagles' defensive third during the first possession of the sudden-death period, he wasted little time.

Borda jogged toward the goal, making a cut first to the left and then to the right, switched his stick in his hands and converted a left-handed sidearm shot to seal No. 2 Gonzaga's 9-8 victory.

As some teammates stormed toward him from the sideline, the few near Borda twisted him into a dog pile on the Landon field in Bethesda, elated to have erased a four-goal deficit in the fourth quarter to beat the No. 10 Bears in an annual meeting of two of the area's storied programs.
