WCAC boys’ basketball semifinals: Paul VI, DeMatha flip last year’s results to set up championship meeting

Last February, Paul VI guard Jeremy Roach watched from the bench as his team let a double-digit halftime lead over Gonzaga slip away in a Washington Catholic Athletic Conference semifinal.  The Duke signee, who missed all of last season with an ACL injury, felt helpless as the Eagles stormed past the Panthers and then went on to win the confernce title.

On Sunday, at American University's Bender Arena, the Panthers got a rematch, and this time Roach stayed far away from the bench.  In front of a raucous crowd, Roach put on a show early and helped the No. 3 Panthers to a 74.63 victory in the semifinals.
