PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Jermaine Harris, F, Sr., Rock Creek Christian

The Rhode Island signee was the anchor of Rock Creek Christian's undefeated run through the Capital Beltway League. When the Eagles lost two of their top guards before the season, the 6-foot-8 senior forward assumed the starring role — and constant double-teams — to average 21.3 points, 12.1 rebounds and 2.1 blocks. Four times, he had at least 20 points and 20 rebounds. The only returning selection from the 2016-17 All-Met first team led Rock Creek Christian to the Capital Beltway League title and a runner-up finish in the Maryland private schools championship.

FIRST TEAM

Jared Bynum, G, Sr., Georgetown Prep

The Saint Joseph's signee and Interstate Athletic Conference player of the year powered the Little Hoyas to the league's regular season and tournament titles, averaging 17.8 points while serving as the offense's top facilitator.

Myles Dread, G, Sr., Gonzaga

After the Eagles lost two of last year's top contributors, the D.C. Gatorade Player of the Year shined as he led his team to the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference tournament championship game. He will play at Penn State.

Ayinde Hikim, G, Sr., Wilson

The D.C. Interscholastic Athletic Association player of the year was the leader in Wilson's undefeated run through the league. He averaged 13.5 points and seven assists, and he had 21 points in the Tigers' D.C. State Athletic Association championship victory.

Xavier Johnson, G, Sr., O'Connell

After five players transferred, the Knights relied on the Nebraska signee to finish third in the WCAC regular season and runner-up in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association tournament. He averaged 18 points, five assists and five rebounds.

Jordan Miller, G, Sr., Loudoun Valley

The George Mason signee averaged 17.8 points and helped the Vikings to an 18-game winning streak and a Virginia Class 4 state semifinal appearance. He was a key piece for Loudoun Valley's 2016-17 state championship team.

Quentin Millora-Brown, F, Sr., South County

The Rice signee transferred to the Stallions before the season and emerged as a force in the team's run to its first Virginia Class 6 state title. He averaged 16.1 points, 12.5 rebounds, 5.2 blocks and 4.0 assists — and once had a quadruple-double.

Justin Moore, G, Jr., DeMatha

A season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament, the high-major recruit averaged a team-high 16.6 points as the Stags claimed championships in the WCAC, Maryland private schools and Alhambra Catholic Invitational tournaments.

Daniel Oladapo F, Sr., Bladensburg

In the run to the Mustangs' first Maryland 4A state final appearance since 1979, the Prince George's County standout averaged 26 points and 12 rebounds, scoring in double digits in all but one game.

Jeremy Roach, G, So., Paul VI

Averaging 15.2 points, the consensus five-star Class of 2020 recruit helped the Panthers to a 17-0 record in the WCAC regular season and their first VISAA championship since 2014.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Angelo Hernandez, Wilson

In his fourth season with the Tigers, they won a second straight DCIAA championship one week, then defeated two of the area's top private schools in the semifinals and final to claim the team's first DCSAA championship the next.
