DeMatha Junior MarShawn Lloyd carried the Stags to a thrilling 3 overtime win vs Gonzaga.

When DeMatha played Gonzaga last year, the Stags ran out of time in the fourth quarter to finish their comeback. This year, DeMatha made sure to finish its job — even if it took three overtimes.

After DeMarcco Hellams intercepted the Eagles in the end zone in the third overtime, running back MarShawn Lloyd bulldozed through the Eagles' defense to score on the next play as No. 7 DeMatha defeated No. 5 Gonzaga, 27-21.

"They put it on me for a reason," Lloyd said. "I wanted to be there for my team and make sure that we won this game. I just believed in my line."

The Stags (5-1, 1-0 Washington Catholic Athletic Conference) stormed onto the field and swarmed Lloyd to celebrate, pouring water on him. After the game, DeMatha Coach Elijah Brooks gathered his players and told them how proud he was that his team overcame adversity to pull off its first conference victory of the year.
