DeMatha Community Raises $8000 for the Cure for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA)

The 2015 annual DeMatha Walk-a-Thon raised nearly $8000 for Cure SMA (http://www.curesma.org/), an organization founded to support children and families suffering from spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). We were overwhelmed by the generosity of the student body and extended DeMatha family who contributed in honor of Kyle Bickel, son of faculty member Matt Bickel '95, who has Type 3 SMA. The entire school took time out of the day to walk around the Hyattsville neighborhood to raise awareness for Cure SMA. Thanks for all the donations!
